Wholesale Supply Coordinator


Food Commons Fresno is a fresh, fun, and comprehensive local food business. We seek passionate individuals to join our team.

We are searching for a Supply Coordinator to contribute to the growth of our wholesale business. The position includes working directly with the wholesale team in growing the wholesale division of Food Commons Fresno. The principle objective is to seamlessly connect local food producers like restaurants, chefs, food artisans and institutions with local farms. You are participating in building a system that benefits the local sustainable farming economy and increases local access to high quality produce and other food items.   



  • Primary contact with suppliers including local farms, manufacturers and distributors.  

  • Register new suppliers on website, provide tutorial and ongoing support.

  • Collect product availability, pricing and note on quality from suppliers.

  • Communicate supply information to Sales Associates and update in ordering system.

  • Publish weekly Fresh List.

  • Place orders with suppliers.

  • Coordinate logistics for supply deliveries.

  • Coordinate with Ooooby Supply Coordinator and Drivers for supply pick-ups.

  • Provide receiving guide for Drivers and Wholesale Packer.

  • Problem solve around any quantity and quality issues for received orders.

  • Approve supplier invoices for payment by Bookkeeper.

  • Maintain quality control frequently verifying quality of produce.

  • Receive and respond to calls and text messages from suppliers.

  • Outreach to new suppliers and source products requested by Sales Associates.

  • Identify and track supply trends for proactive sourcing and making supply commitments.


  • Take responsibility for the brand promise and provide exceptional service at all times.

  • Be familiar with and have a sound knowledge of wholesale products and food safety.

  • Attend and contribute to training sessions and meetings.

  • Exercise responsible behavior at all times representing Food Commons Fresno.

  • Maintain strong, professional relationships with colleagues, partners, and customers.

  • Participate in growing other aspects of Food Commons Fresno operations.

  • Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.

All applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Experience in produce sourcing or similar positions.

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • High comfort level with computers, common software programs and applications.

  • Willingness to build skills.

  • Passionate about local food system development in the Fresno region.

  • Flexibility and ability to work in a complex and dynamic start-up environment with balance and a healthy sense of humor.

  • Highly accountable and high level of self-initiation.

  • Multilingual, Spanish prefered

  • Precise data entry and attention to detail.

Strong preference will be given to applicants with the following attributes:

  • Significant previous administrative or operating experience in food or farming businesses.

  • Familiarity with standard produce packs, sizing, and ratings.

  • Strong connections with potential customers and/or suppliers


  • 30 hours a week

  • Compensation based on experience.

  • Opportunity to increase hours and pay may become available with business growth and positive job review.
