Job Opening: Kitchen Coordinator

SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB  

Food Commons Fresno is a fresh, fun, and comprehensive local food project. We seek passionate individuals to join our team. We are currently seeking a Kitchen Coordinator to staff our recently completed Production and Commissary Kitchen.

MAIN DUTIES

 

  • Work with the Operations Manager in developing and implementing kitchen policies and procedures.

  • Maintain interior and exterior facility cleaning and maintenance needs including equipment, building and site, especially in food storage and food preparation areas.

  • Provide service to Mobile Food Vendors (Spanish fluency required).

  • Ensure Mobile Food Vendors satisfy obligations.

 

OTHER DUTIES

 

  • Be dependable with good hygiene.

  • Food Handler card is a plus.

  • Spanish fluency required (spoken and written).

  • Assist with food production as needed (will increase over time)

  • Take responsibility for the brand promise and provide exceptional service at all times.

  • Be familiar with Food Commons Fresno products, services and policies.

  • Exercise responsible behaviour at all times and positively represent company.

  • Maintain strong, professional relationships with colleagues, partners, and customers.

  • Be aware of food safety hazards associated with your role, and promptly correct any potential contamination.

  • Be aware of physical hazards associated with your role, and promptly report all hazards.

  • Maintain a safe working environment for all crew members and visitors.

  • Attend and contribute to training sessions and meetings as required.

  • Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to continuously stand or walk and use both hands for the duration of your shift.

  • Ability to bend, reach and lift frequently.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds numerous times throughout the shift.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

 

EXPECTED HOURS:

  • Flexible Schedule. 16 hours/week.

  • Opportunity to increase hours as kitchen production increases. Can be combined with Ooooby produce packing job.

 

COMPENSATION:

  • Wage based on experience.

  • At-will employment

  • Job review will take place after 6 months.
